What caused you to read the novel? What did you like about it?

There were several suggestions for books before 1900, so I googled them all to find out which would appeal to me most. Far from the Madding Crowd seemed the most interesting to me, but I was wrong. I found the story very boring.

What makes this novel interesting?

It is mostly interesting because of the old language that was used, and because you can find out what people thought about things at the time.
